What is involved in custom database development? When Ectobox, Inc. creates a custom software application for our clients – in a nutshell we define the problem to solve, work closely with the client to define how the application should look and work, and then we develop and deploy a complete database solution. A great deal of this work is done while in direct contact with the client. That allows us to customize the entire system to our clients’ exact specifications.

How user-friendly are your customized software solutions? Our custom software and web applications are very user friendly. That is a result of two things: 1) the fact that we create the applications in close coordination with the client based on their stated needs, and 2) our focus on creating applications that don’t require much training to use (i.e., the software should just make sense when you see it for the first time).

What happens after my custom Access database is completed? We never just “leave our customers hanging.” We provide support to all customers, either on an hourly basis or as part of our project agreement. We can provide support on-site to our local, Western Pennsylvania clients or remotely by phone and web conference.

What is your specialty? Our team specializes in creating custom software applications using mostly Microsoft tools. We have done and still do a lot Microsoft Access database applications for small and medium-sized businesses. We also create and customize existing .NET desktop applications and web applications. Our applications often use Microsoft SQL Server for data storage and processing.

Does your team modify existing custom software applications? Absolutely! Well over half of our clients have had at least one custom software application we have been called upon to maintain, modify, or replace.
