diamondLife

Problem
diamondLife, a Pittsburgh company, had a custom software application developed by Ectobox in Microsoft Access. The company was becoming busier selling and shipping more and more products. The shipping staff had to manually retype shipping data in the FedEx web site to ship packages with FedEx. This extra work was very time consuming.

Solution
diamondLife requested that the custom application be able to transmit the shipping information and obtain shipping costs and tracking numbers directly with FedEx. The application was extended with .NET and COM objects allowing the application to communicate shipping data directly with FedEx's servers.

Result
The new custom FedEx shipping feature now saves the shipping staff a great deal of time everyday. They no longer have to manually retype data into the FedEx web site; it is now done automatically including printing of the FedEx shipping label.

diamondLife (with Ectobox) was one of FedEx's first customers to develop and complete a solution with the new FedEx web services, according to the FedEx technical support and marketing department.
